Summary

Purpose: The Head of Assessment Quality is responsible for:
•defining and delivering the assessment quality framework
•regularly monitoring, risk evaluating and reporting on assessment quality
•creating and executing effective plans and projects for improving quality management in end-to-end assessment design and delivery processes
•working closely with delivery teams across COO to ensure a focus on quality improvement, balanced against other drivers and reducing quality failures in our processes
•ensuring AQA continues to deliver high quality assessments throughout its end-to-end delivery, meeting regulatory requirements and the expectations of customers
•leading the assessment quality team to deliver a key element of AQAs strategy.Landscape: Managing the Assessment Quality team, the Head of Assessment Quality reports into the Director of Assessment. The Head of Assessment Quality will work across COO to ensure assessment quality is effectively managed in our end-to-end delivery processes as well as contributing to key strategic programmes.
The role will work closely with teams across COO as well as and with Research and Innovation, Regulation and Customer and Sales. Maintaining assessment quality in a broadening portfolio of assessment products and delivery methods.

Activities:
Define, deliver and manage the assessment quality framework
Improve measurement and reporting of assessment quality
Work across COO to identify assessment quality issues, define and manage projects to make measurable improvements fostering a culture of quality and continuous improvement
Audit compliance and effectiveness of relevant processes and business rules to support assessment quality
Point of escalation for tactical operational changes to processes and business rules
Create a vision and lead the work of the assessment quality team, enabling high quality outcomes and a positive team culture

To be successful in this role, you will need to know:
Strong matrix management and collaboration skills
Understanding of quality frameworks, measurement and reporting and how that could be applied to AQAs operations and assessments
Experienced in creating insight and defining actions from complex data
Continous improvement skills including process mapping and review
Create a vision and provide leadership to create a culture of quality focus and drive improvement
Planning and project management, prioritising to focus on highest impact areas and balancing demands to ensure effective delivery
