Job summary
EIP Suffolk (Early Intervention in Psychosis Service) is currently able to offer an exciting opportunities to join our highly skilled and experienced team delivering bespoke and timely interventions to our service users, aged 14 - 65 years, and their families in line with the National Institute of Clinical Excellence Quality Standards for Early Intervention Services.
We are currently looking to recruit a part time (27 hours / week) Band 4 AfC Band 4 Clinical Skills Practitioner. Previous experience of working with Psychosis within a community setting would be advantageous but not essential.
You will be working alongside a dedicated group of professionals who hold the service user, family, Carers and Social Recovery at the center of all that we deliver.
Main duties of the job
As a Clinical Skills Practitioner you will be able to demonstrate a warm, compassionate and needs-led approach to working with our service users and their families. You will have good engagement skills and have proven ability to build therapeutic relationships. The role includes multi-agency working alongside the family, local acute care services, primary care sector, social care, education, employment and voluntary services to ensure the service users needs are best met.
This role will focus on monitoring physical health and healthy lifestyle plans across the clinical caseload in East Suffolk.
You will work closely with the team Consultant and Independent Non-Medical Prescriber.
EIP Suffolk offers regular clinical and management supervision with an emphasis on reflective practice both as 1:1 and group sessions. We hold a strong belief in team and individual development. We will offer you a full EIP induction program and have extensive training and career development that can be accessed across our Trust.

Priority outcomes for the Suffolk Early Intervention in Psychosis Service (EIS)
Ensure a safe, caring, responsive and high-quality physical health screening and intervention service is provided to service users experiencing their First Episode of Psychosis (FEP) / assessed as At Risk Mental State (ARMS) in Suffolk (Suffolk and North Essex ICB area) This will be in line with The National Institute for Clinical Excellence (NICE) Quality Standards for EIS and utilise the Lester tool. The appointments as offered to service users will be within the clinical and/or domestic environment.
Ensure that the physical health needs of these service users are addressed through working with and sharing clinical information with the patients primary care team, the EIP Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) and other relevant stakeholders, leading to timely and appropriate clinical interventions undertaken.
An ambition to reduce the incidence of preventable physical ill health in this cohort of service users through evidence-based health promotion activity and appropriate onward referral where clinically appropriate.
Supporting the ongoing development and evolution of the physical health pathway within EIS alongside the MDT in order to most effectively meet the remit of meeting and exceeding national and local clinical objectives.
Responsibility for actively participating as a key member of the clinical team for providing quality services for an identified client group under the supervision of a registered professional.
Will maintain, develop and evidence clinical knowledge, skills and competencies at all opportunities and through the competency framework
Demonstrate an attitude which respects and values service users and their carers.
Be accountable and work autonomously within clearly defined boundaries of the Clinical Skills Practitioner competencies and carry out specific delegated tasks. This may include extended roles delegated by a registered professional.
Expected to deliver care and services within the strategic objectives of the organisation and
promote the principles of Recovery. These principles will recognise the need to promote safe practice; value the beliefs and aims of service users and carers; work in partnership and offer meaningful choice; and value social inclusion
Assist in completion of routine outcome measures (HONOS / QPR / DIALOG) at baseline, 3 months (under 18s) and annually up-to discharge under the direction of a clinical practitioner.
