This role is fixed term for 12 months.

We have a great opportunity for a Business Support Transmission Coordinator to join Electricity North West based in Oldham.

Our role’s

As a Business Support Transmission Coordinator, you coordinate, schedule and control the programme of works for all industrial employees on the Transmission South network (fitters, jointers, linesworkers, oil mechanics), as well as contributing to the successful completion of the annual G&P Inspection and Maintenance programme through the dispatching, coordination and reporting of all inspection and maintenance work, this will include but is not limited to carrying out the following responsibilities:

  • Dispatching of work from within the Chime system out to field operatives, ensuring work is issued geographically to ensure maximum productivity
  • Monitoring of the completion of work orders by operational field teams using Chime MI, intervening where necessary to ensure all inspection and maintenance work is completed in a timely manner
  • Processing fitting forms from engineers for G&P maintenance work, matching job to appropriately skilled team and issuing work order via Chime
  • Responsible for the scheduling and effective utilisation of Transmission workers’ time including: training, vehicle inspections, planned and unplanned absences, planned capital work, inspections and maintenance work, emergency works
  • Producing detailed MI including analysing productivity levels, work volumes completed, analysing trends and identifying risks in department’s goal to complete annual G&P inspection and maintenance targets
  • Organising for fill in work as and when required to assist with staff productivity levels and completion of inspection and maintenance programme
  • Creation and management of plant maintenance programme for relevant Transmission area, ensuring correct chimelets are being requested by engineers and every job is being is being booked to the correct number, as well as ensuring a monthly cleanse is completed to monitor accurate closure of work orders
  • Coordination of quarterly inspections on items such as: climbing equipment, harnesses, ladders and scaffolding, ensuring that inspections results are recorded on spreadsheet
  • Ordering appropriate PPE and tools for operational workforce
  • General administration as is required by the Delivery Manager and Business Support Manager


What we’re looking for
To apply for the role, you will have previous experience working as a programme coordinator / work planner / scheduler. You will also require the following:

  • Confident producing complex and regular MI reports, demonstrating highly proficient IT skills (Essential);
  • Knowledge of electricity distribution network (Desirable);
  • Be self-managing and able to work under pressure to meet business targets without direct supervision
  • Be highly organised and able to effectively prioritise large amounts of work across different business areas
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills and able to handle difficult conversations
