What we’re looking for...

We are looking for a highly capable and experienced National Account Manager to take on this prominent and high profile role within the fast paced and exciting world of the Tesco Business Unit.

As Tesco NAM you will be responsible for the development of our Tesco business, specifically being accountable for World Foods, Singles and Energy. 

As an integral part of the Tesco and wider Commercial team you will have the ability to work with both customer contacts and cross functional teams to deliver against central strategic objectives. 

The scope of the position covers day to day planning,development and execution of trading strategies in conjunction with the wider BU1 team plus collaboration with our Commercial and Operations colleagues. Our primary objective being to create and deliver engaging customer focussed plans that deliver against mutual strategic objectives. 

Your responsibilities will include...

As NAM Tesco your responsibilities will include...

  • Channel Strategy
    • Achieve all agreed Key Performance Indicators by buying area within the agreed annual budget costings (Volume, bottom line, investment management) 
    • In conjunction with Controllers/Commercial/Operations the BDM will also be responsible for managing and increasing the overall gross profit % through effective SKU mix management.
    • Monitor promotional activity to ensure brand strategies are delivered within the account base through creating and delivering a winning commercial trading plan.
  • Customer 
    • Build, manage and network, at the appropriate level with key contacts within the account base to support the team in growing the business and developing customer relationships which deliver overall company objectives.
  • In-store Execution
    • Responsible for targeting (via agreed KPIs) and communicating with the field sales force to ensure excellence in-store execution is delivered in line with AG Barr expectations. 
    • Increase visibility and display effectiveness in order to raise the profile and importance of A G Barr products creating “Best in class” through accompaniment  and supporting the Field sales force.

What you’ll bring…

The successful candidate will have;

  • Minimum 3 years’ sales experience in managing National Accounts (at either NAE or NAM Level)
  • Experience of head office account management covering sectors of the FMCG market.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong collaborator whilst also being a self starter
  • Ability to generate and evaluate creative ideas and produce and implement a rolling activity plan
  • The person who will make this role a success is highly motivated, has a keen eye for detail, an incredible relationship builder and networker (both internally and externally), and refuses to take no for an answer. 
  • A strong understanding of category and the ability to use data to drive insights is essential  

Position will require extensive UK travel and overnight stays
