World Makers is a dynamic and growing game development studio based in the UK. We specialise in creating immersive gaming experiences that captivate players. Joining our team as a 3D Animator, you will be responsible for creating and implementing high-quality animations that bring our games to life.

Our first title, Deceit, is a best-selling immersive social deduction multiplayer game that challenges players' trust, with over four million downloads. We have an ambitious future title in production and are seeking a talented Junior/Mid-level 3D Animator to join our team.

This is a hybrid role - the successful applicant will be expected to spend two days per week on-site in Cambridge.

Responsibilities -

  • Drive Animation Delivery: Collaborate closely with the team in a high-velocity, high-impact environment, helping shape the role of animation within our studio and titles.
  • Ownership of Animation: Take full responsibility for the animation needs of characters and other assets, overseeing the process from initial design through production to final implementation to the engine, ensuring seamless transitions and functionality.
  • Supporting Animation Tasks: Perform additional animation tasks as needed to support the team, ensuring that all animations are cleanly and accurately represented in the game engine.

Skills & Requirements -

  • Professional Experience: Demonstrable experience working as a professional games animator.
  • Asset Management: Proficient in asset planning, estimation, and organisation within an asset pipeline.
  • Feedback Interpretation: Ability to take feedback in good faith and interpret it effectively to revise and improve your work and the work of others on your team.
  • Creative Approach: Confident and creative approach to animation, capable of making interesting animation choices and executing them effectively.
  • Attention to Detail: Keen eye for animation principles and detail, contributing to smooth, dynamic, and reactive animations in our game.
  • Technical Expertise: Extensive familiarity with animation in Autodesk Maya.
  • Eligibility: Applicants must have the right to work in the UK.

Beneficial -

  • Experience with Unreal Engine 5.
  • Development experience on shipped titles.
  • Experience with rigging and scripting in Maya and/or other tools.
  • Experience creating lively human character animations and creature animations.
  • Taking ownership of and delivering end-to-end features within a game.
