We are seeking to receive expressions of interest from those who would like the opportunity to join our UK teams, promoting the growth of the Arup Fire Business. This role is vital to help deliver our growing portfolio of exciting projects and to assist in the development of our diverse, innovative, multi-cultural and self-motivated team of fire safety consultants. With offices across the UK, you will join teams of professionals with diverse industry knowledge. 

The Opportunities

We are seeking individuals who will complement our fire safety team and help deliver fire safety engineering services for our clients. You will be part of a 400+ strong fire safety skills network across 20 offices around the World.

Our projects are diverse and range from conceptual fire strategy development through to handing over landmark projects; we undertake fire safety research to develop evidence-based solutions for novel fire safety hazards and strive to find ways to improve safety equity for the most vulnerable. We do this for our clients, and in partnership with academia and industry. We strive to enable a sustainable, resilient built environment, using the latest knowledge and expertise, assisted by our own in-house digital tools and software.

We'd love to hear from you if you have the below skills and experience;

Chartered Engineer with a relevant institution such as the Institution of Fire Engineers or be close to gaining Chartered Engineer status.Qualification in a relevant subject (fire engineering, other types of engineering, or architecture related). Significant background in a fire engineering consultancy or similar environmentDeep knowledge of applicable legislation and guidance used in the UK, and appreciation of the new regulatory regime as well as associated standards and industry guidance across a range of sectors.Competency in directing client and stakeholder meetings, and ability to explain technically complicated fire safety matters to lay persons to enable informed course of action.Familiarity with RIBA Plan of Work or other design frameworks (e.g. GRIP / PACE).Background in delivering evidence-based fire safety solutions for UK based projects, in a range of different sectors.Awareness of appropriate legislation and design guidance for use in the UK.Experience in delivering fire strategies and developing fire engineered solutions.Understand the fire engineering challenges relevant to different design stages from the client brief through to construction and operation.
