Job summary
The successful applicant will have up to 1 year of full-time clinical trial units post and doing on calls at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital on a 1A Banding.
Main duties of the job
This is an opportunity for an individual to gain sub-specialist expertise and research experience in Immune haematology conditions and clinical trials. The position is suitable for individuals who would like more clinically based experience in the management of patients, clinical trial exposure and the opportunity to undertake prospective and retrospective patient outcome studies with a view to presentation and publication. Collaborations across Imperial College and with other institutions will be encouraged.
Applicants interested in the post will work with Profs Cooper and Milojkovic within the non-malignant and Haem-Onc haematology clinical trials units. We have dedicated haematology clinical trials unit which is experienced in delivering commercial and academic clinical studies. Both trial units have developed and delivered a number of investigator lead studies, involving all aspects of trial planning and delivery from research design to protocol development, ethical approval study implementation and data analysis, and candidates with an interest in developing and implementing clinical studies would be welcomed.

Job responsibilities
As part of this role, and under the supervision of and as directed by the Principal Investigator(s), the postholders responsibilities could include;
To conduct all aspects (experimental planning, the gaining of ethical approval, laboratory work, data analysis) of the research project To develop relevant research and clinical skills To develop aims and objectives for a higher degree, to register and prepare grant submissions To record, analyse and communicate scientific data together with a clear interpretation of results To write scientific papers communicating the results of the work, and to present at scientific meetings nationally and internationally To contribute to teaching in the department To join multidisciplinary meetings and participate in clinical governance activities and audit To participate as part of the larger research group as required To participate in departmental managerial activities as required To budget and keep records of expenditure on laboratory consumables Compliance with intellectual property rights, the Data Protection Act 2000, COSHH Health and Safety Guidelines within the laboratory and all other relevant Imperial College policies, including Financial Regulations, the Equal Opportunities Policy, the Promoting Race Equality Policy, the Health and Safety Policy, the Information Systems Security Policy, and the Intellectual Property rights and Register of Interests PolicieThe postholder will be responsible for accurate record-keeping and documentation of results, and for preparing research reports and papers arising from their research.
