Job Overview

The Transformation Unit is seeking a highly skilled Cardiology Senior Clinical Fellow to join our team. As a Cardiology Senior Clinical Fellow, you will have the opportunity to develop your clinical skills in adult pulmonary hypertension training, including a comprehensive understanding of investigations, treatment, and follow-up of all forms of PH.

Main Duties

• Assist in the clinical services of the unit under direct consultant supervision.
• Participate in in-patient, day-case, and outpatient care of adults with PH.
• Participate in the pre- and post-procedure care of adults with PH undergoing right heart catheterisation.
• Supervise more junior members of medical staff and assist with their ongoing education.
• Contribute to the weekly joint multidisciplinary clinical meetings.
• Assist in the accurate collection of clinical data necessary for assessment and maintenance of service standards and the national PH Audit.

Research Responsibilities

Research is a fundamental component of patient care. As a Cardiology Senior Clinical Fellow, you will have the opportunity to initiate and carry out research, building on previous research themes. This will contribute to the development of high-quality patient care and shape the future of cardiology services.

Clinical Governance

You will be expected to participate in clinical audit and comply with Clinical Governance as appropriate. This will ensure that our services are safe, effective, and meet the needs of our patients.

Managerial Responsibility

You will contribute to the education and training of peers and junior doctors, developing your leadership skills and expertise in cardiology. This will enhance our team's ability to provide high-quality patient care and support the development of the next generation of medical professionals.
