Applications are invited for a Clinical Trials Coordinator/Data Manager based within the Malignant Haematology Clinical Trials Unit at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, Hammersmith Hospital. The CTU manages a large portfolio of commercial and academic haematological malignancies and bone marrow transplant studies. This position represents a rare and exciting opportunity for a motivated individual with a background experience in a research unit to provide efficient regulatory/administrative support to the CTU.

The post holder would work within the structure of the Clinical Trials Unit under the direct supervision of the CTU Operations Manager and the overall supervision of the Clinical Trials Unit Lead Nurse. The post holder will share/manage the workload of the unit’s clinical trials administration.

The main role of the post holder is to contribute to the continued delivery of the highest quality research and the management of patient data relating to clinical research studies. In addition, the post holder will assist to prepare for monitoring visits and liaise with trial sponsors to ensure timely transfer of data, and resolving any data queries. Other responsibilities will include conducting feasibility assessments, and the creation and maintenance of investigator site files and databases of clinical trial activity.

In depth knowledge of Good Clinical Practice and research governance regulations is essential. You should be highly motivated and be able to undertake tasks using your initiative. Previous experience of working with haemato-oncology clinical trials would be advantageous.

The role of the clinical trial coordinator is to contribute to the continued delivery of the highest quality research through the management of patient data relating to clinical research studies. The post holder will support the research nurses and medical staff in the collection and processing of clinical trial data for the current portfolio of clinical trials in Malignant Haematology CTU. In addition, the post holder will assist to prepare for monitoring visits and liaise with trial sponsors to ensure timely transfer of data, and resolving any data queries.

The post holder will work within the guidelines of ICH GCP and local SOPs at all times. Other responsibilities will include conducting feasibility assessments, and the creation and maintenance of investigator site files and databases of clinical trial activity.

The post holder will be expected to have knowledge of Haematological cancer care and will be expected to develop skills and knowledge relating to the conduct of clinical trials in this area.
