Teaching Personnel is working on behalf of a primary school in Southport to source an enthusiastic and dedicated Year 4 Teacher to join our team on a fixed-term maternity cover contract. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with a vibrant group of pupils and contribute to their educational journey during the Autumn and Spring terms of the 2024-2025 academic year.

Role Overview

As the Year 4 Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality lessons that engage and challenge pupils, fostering a positive and inclusive classroom environment. You will plan, prepare, and assess work to ensure that all pupils make excellent progress in their learning. The successful candidate will work closely with colleagues to maintain consistency and continuity in the pupils' education throughout the maternity cover period.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that meet the needs of all pupils.
  • Assess, monitor, and record pupils’ progress, providing regular feedback to pupils and parents.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all pupils feel valued and supported.
  • Work collaboratively with the Year 4 team and other staff members to ensure a smooth transition and continuity in teaching.
  • Manage classroom behaviour in line with the school’s policies, promoting a positive learning atmosphere.
  • Participate in staff meetings, parent consultations, and school events as required.
  • Ensure the safeguarding and welfare of all pupils, adhering to school policies and procedures.
Person Specification

Essential:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Experience teaching within Key Stage 2, ideally with Year 4.
  • Strong understanding of the National Curriculum and assessment requirements.
  • Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to engage and inspire pupils.
  • Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of learners.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with pupils, staff, and parents.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Desirable:

  • Experience in delivering creative and innovative lessons that incorporate technology and other resources.
  • A passion for contributing to the wider school community.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
