We take an office first hybrid approach here at London Gatwick, with three days a week in the office, two days remote, managed around the needs of the business.

We are looking for someone who can help us redefine what's possible for our Business Change team here at London Gatwick.

What is the role?

The LBCM is responsible for defining and overseeing strategic initiatives that enable transformative growth across the airport. Collaborating closely with the Executive team, Sponsors, and Programme Managers, defining strategic business requirements, and developing the case for change.

The LBCM leads and supports the project teams in developing commercially astute business cases, driving innovative and sustainable solutions that maximise value. By employing creative, out-of-the-box problem-solving techniques, the LBCM focuses on delivering optimal solutions and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

What will you do?

  • Work with Sponsors to identify and define strategic business challenges and opportunities that align with and contribute to the airport's strategic goals.
  • Ensure a thorough understanding of business requirements, exploring a blend of process, systems, people, and infrastructure solutions. Collaborate with internal and external modelling resources to develop initial concepts, incorporating change management principles to facilitate smooth transitions.
  • Critically evaluate assumptions and constraints, identifying and leveraging synergies to enhance the strategic impact of each project or program.
  • Identify, define and track the benefits and outcomes required of the programme or project, including sustainability
  • Support the successful transition of business changes into operational areas, ensuring minimal disruption and maximum adoption.
  • Champion sustainable development, balancing economic benefit with environmental impact.

Do you have what we're looking for?

  • Significant experience in Project/ Change Management or a degree in a relevant field.  
  • Programme management training (e.g. APM, MSP) (desirable)
  • Extensive experience in relevant business area(s) and a deep understanding of the broader business context. Relevant business areas include capital finance, capacity planning and growth, operations and airline business development.  The broader business context encompasses London Gatwick's regulatory environment.
  • Strong leadership skills, both in managing direct reports and in building and leading virtual teams from other business units to deliver specific projects
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills with the ability to make complex issues understandable for wider audiences, engage and motivate cross functional teams of internal staff and external consultants.
  • Ability to evaluate information critically, questioning assumptions and considering alternative perspectives
  • Commercial expertise to develop compelling business cases, considering all capital and operating costs, revenue streams, productivity opportunities, service and regulatory impacts.
  • Strong analytical skills interpreting, combining and manipulating data to drive effective, evidence-based decision making.
  • Extensive experience in managing complex stakeholder relationships with internal external subject matter experts, regulators, airlines and their handlers.
