Job summary

Clinical and Care Professional Leads support south east London-wide and borough programmes of work, therefore, there is an expectation that you currently work within south east London, and for borough based roles, within that borough.

The Learning Disability, Autism and SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) Programme sits within the Quality and Nursing Directorate. Strategic leadership is provided by the Associate Director for the programme, the programme has close links with the mental health and children and young people programmes of work that sit within the Planning Directorate.

Main duties of the job

The role of the Learning Disability, Autism and SEND CCPL/S is to provide the ICS with expertise, advice and leadership to drive transformation of services for children, young people and adults with a learning disability and for autistic people; support the commissioning of services; and provide expertise and advice on the delivery of all learning disability and/or autism services across the ICS.

Job responsibilities

There are clear areas of work identified for clinical and care professional leads, within the programme as follows:

1. LDA Transformation - Convening system wide Annual Health Checks (AHCs) strategic work, including LD Registers, Health inequalities and Community LD pathways.- Convening LeDeR (Learning from Lives and Deaths) strategic work including Strategic leadership, Focussed Reviews and governance.- Oversight and implementation of Dynamic Support Registers (DSRs), CETRs (Care Education, Treatment Reviews), STOMP and STAMP (Over-prescribing Adults and CYP), Key working, Inpatient Surgery.

2. All Age Autism and SEND - ASD diagnostic pathways, waiting well initiatives- mental health provisions, community support, developing community autism team, autism registers and reasonable adjustment digital flag & health passports, autism dashboard tackling health inequalities.- SEL SEND Strategy, SEND dashboard. PINS (Partnerships for Inclusion of Neurodiversity in Schools) and EBSA Emotionally Based School Avoidance. These are the areas of work that have been identified as requiring CCPL support, leadership, and expert opinion and allows applicants to express an interest in any area of focus described and understand the time commitment required.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

Qualified care and/or clinical professional NMC, HCPC, social work register, GMC etc. Educated to Masters level or equivalent level of experience of working at a senior level in specialist area.

Experience

Significant experience of leading, managing, developing, influencing and inspiring staff.

Skills

Essential

Good analytical skills and the ability to draw qualitative and quantitative data from a wide range of sources and present in a clear concise manner. The ability to work in partnership with lead clinicians, health care professionals and other stakeholders and a partnership approach to working across organisations. Champions the principles of equality, diversity and inclusion both within and outside of the organisation. Provide effective, inclusive and compassionate leadership ensuring all voices are heard and creating and nurturing a culture where staff feel safe to speak up.
