Job overview

An exciting opportunity is available for a housekeeper at the new Bluebell ward. Bluebell will be a bedded acute admission ward for older adults with a functional mental health diagnosis opening in September 4.

This is a new ward that will be based at Walton Hospital. 

We are looking for a House keeper to work either hours or hours per week. The post will be over a seven day week, working weekends and bank-holidays. 

Main duties of the job

The post holder will work as part of the ward team and be responsible for the co-ordination of all patient facilities and services in the ward area and ensure that there is a safe and comfortable environment The main elements of the role are ensuring the delivery of some cleaning, catering, and laundry together with other specified tasks to meet patient need as determined by the ward The post holder will be required to work closely with the facilities department and to monitor quality standards and rectify deficiencies and meet PLACE and CQC outcomes To assist the nursing team to ensure that patients have a good nutritional intake and enhance the mealtime experience for all patients To ensure that the beds are made and that bedrooms are tidy and all repairs are reported to the facilities/estates department Laundry is be managed according to patients needs Stock control is to be managed and storerooms are to be maintained
