Achieve Salford are excited to announce an internal secondment opportunity – Due to additional funding to address unmet needs in Salford are recruiting a new, Women Engagement Worker (Recovery Coordinator). The post will seek to work with women and women’s support agencies to identify and reduce barriers for women accessing drug and alcohol treatment. Due to identified occupational requirements this post holder will need to be female, as is ‘Permitted under section 11, part (a) of the Equality Act 2010’. The post is open to staff with experience of working as a Recovery Coordinator within Achieve.

Main duties of the job

As a new post the post holder will have the opportunity to develop this role to meet the need of the local community, liaising with stakeholders and providing Recovery Coordination for a cohort of female service users. Completing initial comprehensive assessments, introduction to the service and engaging hard to reach service users.

The post offered is a full time hours per week, primarily based at The Orchard, Salford, but is expected to travel to community venues across the wider footprint. The secondment will initially run until 31/03/2025.

The post holder should be able to demonstrate understanding and knowledge of the issues affecting female substance users and potential barriers to accessing services. The post holder will have knowledge of the recovery agenda, demonstrate excellent communication skills with service users, their families, and significant others by using motivational approaches to inspire others to achieve their goals and assist in attaining and maintaining their recovery.
