The charity assistant will be at the centre of the charity, good with people; taking a supportive role with fundraisers, donors and supporters of the charity and the people and patients at the Princess Alexandra Hospital.

Main duties of the job

Act as the first point of contact, taking accurate messages Respond to fundraising and volunteering enquiries (face to face, email and telephone) promptly and efficiently Support people wishing to fundraise or volunteer Thank donors promptly after they have donated, recording details Provide administrative and clerical support to the charity Coordinate the fundraising collection tins Process all orders and requisitions and manage receipt of deliveries Support seasonal activity, ward visits, cheque presentations and present giving Liaise with the communications team to ensure updates on charity fundraising, events etc are covered and external website is up to date Update charity page on AlexNet (Extranet) Prepare posts for social media Assist the head of charity in relationship management with individuals, community groups and small companies who are organising fundraising events Ensure that all written communication and materials produced comply with corporate design standards and appropriate legislation style guides, document templates, legal wordings, charities legislation requirements etc. Co-ordinate and support with small internal events such as the quiz, craft sales sending emails and informing the relevant people. Assist with the programme of bucket collections at supermarkets and football matches including coordinating the volunteers.

Our Organisation

The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust (PAHT) provides a full range of general acute, outpatient and diagnostic services at The Princess Alexandra Hospital in Harlow, the Herts and Essex Hospital in Bishop's Stortford, and St Margaret's Hospital in Epping.

We employ 3,500 staff and serve a local population of around 350,000 people living in west Essex and east Hertfordshire, centred on the M11 corridor and the towns of Harlow, Bishop's Stortford and Epping. Our extended catchment area incorporates a population of up to 500,000 and includes the areas of Hoddesdon, Cheshunt and Broxbourne in Hertfordshire.
