Food Technology Teacher required for a Secondary School in Farnborough

Job Responsibilities:

  • Curriculum Delivery: Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality food technology lessons that engage and inspire students.
  • Student Support: Provide individual support and guidance to students, fostering their culinary skills and knowledge.
  • Resource Management: Manage and organise resources, ensuring the kitchen and classroom are well-equipped and maintained.
  • Assessment: Assess and record students' progress, providing feedback to help them achieve their full potential.
  • Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure that all health and safety guidelines are followed, particularly in practical lessons.
  • Extracurricular Activities: Lead and support extracurricular activities related to food technology, such as cooking clubs and competitions.
  • Professional Development: Participate in ongoing professional development and contribute to departmental improvement initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with a specialism in food technology or a related subject.
  • Previous experience teaching food technology at the secondary school level.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Practical knowledge of food preparation, nutrition, and kitchen safety.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with students and staff.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • A commitment to supporting the educational and personal development of students.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
