Are you ready to step up? Are you dynamic and committed? Do you have experience in Cardiac and Cardiac High Dependency Nursing?

If the answer is yes then apply for one of our Band 6 Senior Staff Nurse positions on Dolphin Ward. Dolphin ward is a 16 bedded Cardiac Unit including a 6 bedded Cardiac High Dependency Unit. For children with Congenital Heart Disease (CHD) we are the regional level 1 centre covering the entire South West of England and South Wales.

Ideal candidates will Be able to demonstrate excellent inter-personal and communication skills Have the ability to create and maintain relationships with a variety of clinical and non-clinical staff. Have the ability to manage a busy workload and to prioritise, quickly find solutions and to focus on the important issues when decision making is essential. Have evidence of effective leadership, clinical credibility and have experience of working at a Band 5 level or above. Recent experience in Paediatric cardiac nursing and high dependency care is essential.

The successful candidate will: Be supported in leading a team of nurses to develop both professionally and personally

Main duties of the job

To provide exceptional patient care which is under pinned by evidence based practice and trust values

Demonstrate high standards of nursing care, reflecting the ethos of the NMC Code of Conduct

To develop and maintain specialist knowledge of nursing practice relevant to the clinical area

To work in partnership with children and their families, ensuring you an advocate for their needs within the wider multidisciplinary team

To ensure safe allocation of nursing staff according to acuity and staff skill mix

To communicate effectively with patients, parents and all members of the multidisciplinary team

To undertake the responsibilities associated with being a mentor and preceptor, reflecting the beliefs about professional nursing practice and patient care

Be proactive in contributing towards the continuing development of nursing practice in the team

To conduct oneself in a professional manner and be a role model to others at all times.
