Overview:

Thepurpose of the role is to plan manage and deliver testingactivities for IB and to assist SA colleagues to undertake localtesting. The role also includes release management engaging withGroup IT to ensure test environments are fully prepared andplanning the release of new functionality to IBs and SAs productionenvironments.

The scope of the role is focused ontesting for significant system changes including deployment of newsystems primarily as part of Group or IB/SA projects includingfront office middle office and backoffice systems in addition totesting related to digital platform deployments where required.Significant upgrades to core systems are also in scope whilsttesting for BAU changes bug fixes etc isexcluded.

WhatYou Will Be Doing:

Withregard to the testing element of therole:

  • Maintain a testing strategy forprojects that minimises the impact on BAU and projectstaff.
  • Utilise standard testing tools tocapture the test scripts and results.
  • For localand Groupled project initiatives plan the required testingactivities engage relevant colleagues execute the testscripts/ensure test scripts are executed resolve any issues andrecord the results.
  • Always look for ways toimprove the testing activities and daytoday tasks that colleaguesundertake.
  • Engage with Group IT to ensure thetest environments are accurately maintained and that access isavailable to colleagues engaged in testing. Test environments coverthe endtoend process and include URBIS Trade Innovation ReceivablesDatabase etc and all downstream reports P&L Balance SheetTM1 MR2000 etc.
  • Be the contact point for anyrefresh or End of Day requests relating to projectchanges.
  • Develop best practices and frameworkswith respect to project testing and provide advice guidance andsupport as required to colleagues conductingtesting.
  • Provide and execute test plans fortesting workstreams within wider projects for example testingworkstream for ABC Cash.
  • When using externalpartners for testing activities act as the key interface betweenABCIB & ABC SA and thevendor.
  • Continuously develop knowledge of ourbanking systems and applications.
  • Maintainsuitable records with respect to execution and approval of testingincluding test scripts test results.
  • Identifyand support opportunities to improve testing in conjunction withGroup IT including potential deployment of testing automationand/or enhanced third party testingarrangements.

With regard to therelease element of the role:

  • Engagewith IB and Group IT to plan and implement changes to IBs and SAscore banking systems.
  • Raise service deskrequests for the releases providing a full description of thechange and ensuring all relevant approvals are obtained and beingthe point of contact for any queries.
  • AttendChange Advisory Boards both at Group and local level to ensure theplanned releases are fully understood by IB and SA systemowners.
  • Provide support post the release toensure that any issues can be resolvedquickly.
  • Engage with BAU resources to ensurethat all changes are clearly understood and that updates to theirprocesses and procedures are fully documented andimplemented.
  • Represent IB and where necessarySA on all IT related meetings including engagement with Group IT todetermine upcoming release schedule.
  • Supportprogramme/project managers and system owners as required withregard to the communication ofreleases.
  • Monitor post livevalidation/incidents as required and support any remediation/fixesfrom a testing/ deployment perspective ifrequired.
CandidateSpecification:
  • Detailedknowledge of systems used at Bank ABC would be an advantage K KTPURBIS CAS.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office(PowerPoint VISIO Excel and Word) isessential.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of JIRA andother testing tools is essential.
  • Significantexperience in a similarsized bank environment to understand how thedifferent systems and departments areinterlinked.
  • Strong experience of test planningexecution and results recording.
  • Solid trackrecord of issue resolution and conflictmanagement.
  • Good experience of releasemanagement and liaison with technicaldepartments.
  • Selfstarter with good initiativeable to work without closesupervision.
  • Excellent communications skills(written and spoken).
  • Strong analytical skillswith ability to document findings clearly andconcisely.
  • Demonstrates resilience reactspositively to changes and maintains poise
  • focusand flexibility when encountering difficulties orobstacles.
  • Able to adapt working style to themany cultures at ABCIB.
