Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a specialist provision in Skelmersdale to hire a behavioural support specialist. A school that specialising in providing a safe and nurturing environment for pupils who can displaying challenging behaviours, to provide them with life skills and qualifications to enhance their overall development.

 

The school

This specialist provision supports pupils with SEMHand provides a safe learning environment and a safe living space for the pupils who have the option to live on site. These pupils are supported by the specialist carers who cater to their living needs. The school do have their own curriculum enabling their pupils to complete their GCSE’s and BTEC qualifications whilst providing them with nurture and appropriate support, taking into account their complex needs. It is a mixed male and female school with less than 30 pupils on role aged between 12-16. Their curriculum is individualised along with their behaviour plans, to suit each pupils needs.

The role

This role requires the successful support assistant to be able to cope under pressure and neutralise challenging situations in a calm and professional manner. The support assistant needs to be very resilient to deal with possible stressful situations. To be successful, the individual must be able to work on a 1:1 basis with pupils as well as in small groups, supporting the teacher whilst providing high quality interventions alongside their classroom learning.

  • Competitive pay £13.00 - £15.25 p/h
  • Full-time working hours (8:30-3:00pm, Monday – Friday)
  • Resilient and able to calmly work in high pressured situations

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
