Position: Business Administration Officer
Location: Spring Place Offices, 105 Commercial Road, Southampton, Hampshire, SO15 1EG
Pay Rate: £12.36/hour
Hours: Monday to Friday, 37 hours/week
Assignment Duration: Until 31/03/25, with the possibility of becoming permanent for the right candidate

About the Role:

Join our Seafarer Services branch as a Business Administration Officer, where you'll play a crucial role in certifying seafarers. You'll be responsible for assessing seafarer's documents to ensure they meet regulatory criteria and issuing the necessary licenses for them to work at sea. This role involves interacting with seafarers via telephone and email, providing top-notch customer service, and supporting various administrative tasks within the branch.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Document Assessment: Review and evaluate documents provided by seafarers to determine their eligibility for certification.
  • Examination Support: Assist seafarers with examination arrangements and provide support throughout the process.
  • Certification Issuance: Issue certificates and endorsements to eligible seafarers and notify those who do not meet the criteria.
  • Customer Service: Handle telephone and email inquiries related to certification, offering exceptional customer support.
  • Administrative Support: Contribute to various administrative tasks and projects within the branch.
