Main duties of the job

The post holder will ensure effective relationships and integrated working with the wider safeguarding team (adults, MCA, learning disabilities, domestic abuse) and work across acute services and within a multi-agency arena. They will provide advice and support to organisation staff on the safeguarding issues affecting the health and wellbeing of children, young people. The post holder will be required to work in partnership with other agencies providing health advice and support to multi-agency partners as well as deputise for the Assistant Director of Nursing Safeguarding, MCA/DoLs, Mental Health Legislation, Learning Disabilities and Autism.

You will provide advice and support to organisation staff on the safeguarding issues affecting the health and wellbeing of children, young people. ·Develop your Leadership effectiveness and skills

·Practitioner level in quality improvement, equipping you with the skills to champion, lead and complete quality improvement within your role

After you complete this four and a half days of training you will be able to explore further leadership and improvement training opportunities, we offer further in-house courses dependent upon your role and bitesize programmes and leadership apprenticeships at level 3,5 and 7.

Essential criteria

Knowledge and understanding of child care law; national and local policies and procedures; interagency roles and responsibilities; theoretical framework; patterns / indicators of abuse Ability to assist in the planning, delivery and evaluation of Safeguarding Children training at all levels of the organization Use of research, audit and serious case review recommendations to inform and improve practice Ability to apply knowledge of national and local Safeguarding Children strategies, research and audit in the development of Safeguarding Children services Leadership and communication skills which promote a credible, accessible and ap proachable service which empowers staff. Ability to manage change. IT literate Audit Skills

Registered first level nurse Post-basic qualification in Health Visiting/School Nursing/Childrens nursing with extensive clinical experience Relevant Masters degree or working towards Post-basic qualification in adult education Undertaken formal training as safeguarding supervisor
