An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Childrens Outpatient Department based at James Cook University Hospital.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Childrens Nurse to join our team. We are a team committed to delivering and maintaining high quality patient care and are looking to attract nurses who share our goal. In return we will support ongoing professional development by way of full preceptorship (if required) and provide opportunities for the individual to develop their clinical skills.

Working as part of a caring and passionate nursing team you will responsibly deliver planned, direct patient care to a high standard in accordance with the Trusts established nursing procedures. Leading by example you will promote the safeguarding, wellbeing and interests of all patients and their families whilst taking personal responsibility for ensuring the needs of patients are achieved.

Applicants must demonstrate effective communication skills, be professional, enthusiastic, well-motivated and a share a commitment to team working.

The post holder will supervise the working of Health Care Assistants and support the training and assessment of Student Nurses.

Essential criteria

Registered Children's Nurse Current NMC Registration Diploma or Degree in Nursing

Experience

Essential criteria

Recent experience of working with Children & Young People Recent experience working within an acute or community healthcare setting.

Knowledge and Skills

Essential criteria

Effective communication skills written and verbal. Ability to effectively prioritise and coordinate own workload.

Desirable criteria

Venepuncture skills Good information technology skills with a basic knowledge of Hospital systems

Personal Attributes

Essential criteria

A team player able to work well with others and demonstrate commitment to team objectives. High level of personal motivation.

Disclosure and Barring Checks (DBS)
