GSL Education are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join schools in Boston.

In this pivotal role as a SEN TA, you will work closely with students requiring additional support, helping them to access the curriculum and achieve their full potential. Whether it's implementing tailored learning strategies or supporting students' emotional well-being, your efforts will contribute to creating a nurturing learning environment.

Responsibilities of an SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Provide individual and small group support to students with SEN, ensuring they engage with learning tasks effectively.
  • Assist in implementing Individual Healthcare Plans (IHCPs) and Education, Care, and Support Plans (ECPs) tailored to each student's specific needs.
  • Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback to teachers and SENCOs.
  • Help to create and adapt learning materials to meet the needs of students.
  • Support students in managing their emotions and behaviour, promoting positive interactions.
  • Assist with the physical and personal care needs of students, where necessary.
  • Work collaboratively with external professionals, such as speech and language therapists, to deliver targeted support.
  • Promote an inclusive environment, ensuring all students feel valued and supported.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • CACHE Level 2 or 3 or NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Teaching Assistance or Childcare is desirable.
  • A degree in Psychology, Education, or a related field is advantageous.
  • Previous experience as a SEN TA or in a similar role is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication skills, patience, and adaptability.
  • A passion for helping students with additional needs overcome challenges.
