WCS Group, the UK's largest water safety specialist, is seeking a Fleet Specialist to support our transportation operations. As part of the Marlowe Critical Services family, we strive to be the best in water treatment, hygiene, air quality, and testing, and we need the best people to achieve this. This role will play a key part in ensuring our fleet is properly maintained and utilized, allowing us to continue to provide industry-leading services to our clients. This role will be based from our Tamworth office.

Responsibilities will include managing the scheduling and maintenance of company vehicles, monitoring fuel consumption and expenses, administering driver training programs, and ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation surrounding vehicle use and safety.

The successful candidate will have excellent time management and organisational skills, as well as experience in fleet management and logistics. They will possess strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, be self-motivated, and possess excellent communication skills. Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

  • Process parking, speeding & penalty fines
  • Arrange delivery of new vehicles and collection of end of lease vehicles
  • Monitor when MOT’s are due and notify drivers, following up to ensure this has been carried out
  • Assist with accident damaged vehicles and ensure vehicles are being collected and returned by insurers in timely & efficient manner
  • Arrange hire vehicles for new starters or when a vehicle is off the road
  • Issue & replace fuel cards when required
  • Process driving license checks for new starters
  • Assist with ad hoc fleet related queries via telephone and email, escalating appropriately if
  • necessary
  • Arrange tracker installs and de-fits
  • Actively review and update the MID database ensuring all vehicles are added/ removed as required
  • Ensure processes and deadlines are met through chasing up required information and escalation to management if necessary
  • Update all IT systems and databases which the Company uses to maintain and organise the Fleet including the vehicle tracking system
  • Attending meetings and minute taking, following up on actions required from the meetings
  • Assisting the Group Fleet Manager with on-going fleet projects and implementation of new processes
  • Monitoring the department mailbox and answering queries
  • Support the Fleet Department with any ad hoc administration duties and projects as and when required

Essential experience requirements

  • Minimum 2 to 3 years Planning, coordinating, and supervising the programs for updating, assignment for replacement and disposal of fleet vehicles.
  • Attentive and responsible fleet operations professional with a highly regarded work ethic.
  • Able to communicate regularly with colleagues and always seeks positive and cost-effective solutions to everyday work issues.
  • Experienced in fleet vehicle maintenance programs, and recognised fleet management software.
  • Clean Driving Licence
