Payment Systems Developer
Are you excited about developing secure and scalable payment systems that handle millions of transactions per second? Do you have a passion for building efficient, user-friendly, and innovative payment gateways, e-wallets, and financial APIs? If you're ready to design and develop next-generation payment solutions that empower businesses and users, then our client has the perfect opportunity for you. We’re looking for a Payment Systems Developer (aka The Transaction Architect) to create robust payment platforms that enable seamless transactions across e-commerce, mobile banking, and fintech ecosystems.
As a Payment Systems Developer at our client, you will work closely with finance experts, software engineers, and security specialists to build and maintain reliable, scalable, and secure payment solutions. Whether it's integrating with third-party payment gateways or developing custom payment infrastructure, your work will play a critical role in shaping the future of digital payments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and Develop Payment Systems:
- Build secure and scalable payment systems, including gateways, payment APIs, and e-wallets, for various platforms. You’ll work on backend infrastructure that handles millions of transactions daily, ensuring reliability and low latency.
- Work with third-party payment providers like Stripe, PayPal, and Square to integrate their services into existing systems. You’ll ensure seamless transaction processing across multiple payment methods, including credit/debit cards, bank transfers, and digital wallets.
- Implement strong security measures, including encryption, tokenization, and multi-factor authentication, to protect payment data and ensure compliance with regulations like PCI-DSS, GDPR, and AML/KYC standards.
- Build and maintain APIs and SDKs that enable integration with other systems and platforms. You’ll ensure these tools are well-documented, easy to use, and support a wide range of payment functionalities, from checkout to refunds and subscriptions.
- Work on projects that involve blockchain or cryptocurrency payments. You’ll explore how decentralized finance (DeFi) technologies can be integrated into traditional payment systems, creating new opportunities for businesses and users.
- Continuously optimize payment systems for performance, ensuring fast, reliable, and secure transaction processing. You’ll troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to payment failures, latency, or fraud detection.
- Regularly monitor payment system performance, run diagnostics, and conduct security audits. You’ll ensure the system is up to date with the latest security protocols and is resilient to evolving cyber threats.
Requirements
Required Skills:
- Payment Systems Development Expertise: Extensive experience in designing and developing payment systems, including payment gateways, digital wallets, and financial APIs. You’re familiar with transaction processing, payment protocols, and settlement systems.
- API Development and Integration: Proficiency in building and integrating RESTful APIs for payment processing. You’re experienced in developing well-documented and scalable APIs for use in financial applications.
- Security and Compliance Knowledge: Deep understanding of payment security standards (e.g., PCI-DSS) and practices, including encryption, tokenization, and fraud detection. You’re skilled in ensuring that systems are compliant with financial regulations like GDPR, AML, and KYC.
- Blockchain and Cryptocurrency Knowledge: Familiarity with blockchain technologies and cryptocurrency payments. You understand how digital currencies and decentralized systems can be integrated into payment infrastructure.
- Collaboration and Problem Solving: Excellent collaboration skills with the ability to work closely with finance teams, engineers, and compliance officers. You’re a problem solver who can troubleshoot complex payment-related issues and ensure seamless transaction flow.
Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Financial Technology (FinTech), or a related field. Equivalent experience in payment systems development is highly valued.
- Certifications in payment systems or security (e.g., Certified Payments Professional, Certified Information Systems Security Professional) are a plus.
Experience Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience in payment systems development, with a track record of building and maintaining payment gateways, APIs, or digital wallet solutions.
- Experience with third-party payment processors such as Stripe, PayPal, or Square, and working knowledge of payment industry regulations and compliance.
- Experience with blockchain or cryptocurrency integration into payment platforms is highly desirable.
