Overview:
Element is seeking a
**Cash & Payments Accounts Assistant** to join our team. This is a great opportunity to join one of the fastest growing companies in the Testing, Inspection and Certification sector located in our Global Business Services function in Newbridge, Edinburgh and reporting directly to the European Accounts Payable Manager.

You will be expected to assist with the further development of the Cash & Payments team within our Global Business Services function and to optimise systems to improve efficiency and information. You will have a passion for continuous improvement and will support our project team ensuring successful implementation of our new ERP platform.

**Responsibilities**:

- Execution of all payment types across multiple banking systems ensuring all payments are made timely and accurately, working to ensure effective controls are maintained
- Supporting the weekly manual payments process required for all European stakeholders
- Reconciliation of all payments to ensure the prevention of duplicate charges
- Daily download of multiple bank statements and posting to customer accounts
- Weekly Intercompany payment runs and intercompany funding on behalf of the treasury team
- Posting of FX transactions
- Download and allocation of credit card statements
- Weekly Bank reconciliations
- Resolve queries with credit controllers on unallocated cash / remittances
- Drive continuous improvement ideas with a view to being best in class

Skills / Qualifications:

- Self-motivated team player with strong communication skills and a solution-oriented mindset
- Previous experience of working in an operational finance department in a SSC environment supporting multi-sites is advantageous
- Proficient in MS Excel and a range of ERPs
- Excellent analytical skills and knowledge of accounting and financial principles
- Excellent written and verbal communication and comprehension skills
- Ability to read and interpret accounting related documents
