About the Role

Ambrose Avenue Practice have an opportunity for an experienced finance manager who is able to deputise for the practice manager in their absence, to join our team on a full time basis. You will be the central point for financial management, spanning all facets of the organisation. and, on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks, dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels.

The role is primarily to maximise income generation for the practice but other duties include managing and reconciling bank accounts, finance administration, completing claims, budgets and forecasting, managing invoices, managing partner payments, liaising with HMRC/pensions regulators and practice accountants and complying with finance regulations and legislations. The main responsibilities include: Managing practice budgets and seek to maximise income. Monitoring monthly income to ensure correct payments are received. Negotiating with the ICB/NHS England and in preparation and submission of regular data submissions, ensure the practice receives an appropriate and equitable allocation of resources. Keeping up-to-date with all PCN targets, including the PCN DES, IIF schemes, and other PCN funding. Overseeing the administration elements of QOF, liaising with GPs, Nursing staff and the Admin team Guiding the team to reach QOF targets. Monitoring and managing GP Billing, adding invoices to the system as necessary. Monitoring and maintaining an effective system for handling petty cash and cheques. Understanding and reporting on the financial implications of contract and legislation changes. Managing practice accounts; submit year-end figures promptly and liaise with the practice accountant. Monitoring cash flow and preparing monthly forecasts/budgets/reports to the practice manager and partners. Submitting claims for sickness and reimbursement where appropriate. Managing finance and accounts administration. Monitoring and reconciling income and expenditure statements. Managing partners drawings. Managing and monitoring PAYE for practice staff and maintain appropriate records. Managing contributions to the practice pension scheme(s) and maintain appropriate records under the Pensions Regulator body. Meeting Pensions Regulator standards and promptly cascade to staff, where appropriate. Submitting quarterly drug care data and information. About the Candidate The successful candidate will have experience in payroll management and accounting software systems. The ability to work independently, accurately and be well organised are all essential criterion, as well as excellent communication skills, be a team player and ideally have previously worked in general practice or a healthcare setting.
