Job summary

The Health & Wellbeing Centre is looking to appoint a Sports Physiotherapist who can bring energy, experience and innovation to our Medical team at Clifton College. As a qualified Physiotherapist or Sports Rehabilitator you will be responsible for injury assessment, prevention, screening, monitoring, training preparation, pitch-side cover for training and matches and the delivery of rehabilitation and conditioning programmes.

The role is full time, hours a week, with a requirement to work weekends as per service need.

This is a term time plus role of 37 weeks, made up of 34 weeks term time and 3 weeks outside of term for workforce planning, CPD and attendance at away fixtures on a rotational basis.

Main duties of the job

To respond to the requirements of the Directors of Sport and Head of Medical Health & Welfare.

To provide pitch side first aid, clinical assessment and treatment for sporting injuries that occur during training andmatches.

To lead on the design and implementation of a safe, progressive exercise treatment schedule for all pupils as part of therehabilitation programme. Ensuring pupils return to full sporting fitness asap.

To ensure the management of injuries effectively meets its commitments to the players, coaches and seniormanagement through the keeping of clinical audits and accurate documentation.

Oversight and management of the Colleges S&C programmes. Helping support Heads of Sport and pupils with athleticdevelopment.

Monitor player wellness/welfare at all times.

To recognise and take appropriate actions in an emergency situation.

To ensure that the highest standards of confidentiality, recording, filing and storage of patient notes and statisticalinformation are achieved and maintained.

To contribute to the development of rehabilitation/treatment plans.

To liaise with external organisations where pupils and young athletes have been booked for scans, consultations,operations and to accompany them to appointments as and when required.

To work with the medical departments and coaches of external sporting bodies such as sports clubs, academies.development and elite pathways to provide complete continuity of care.

We are looking for a Sports Physiotherapist to bring energy, experience and innovation to our Health & Wellbeingteam at Clifton College.Reporting to the Head of Medical Health & Welfare, you will work closely and collaboratively with our Paramedic/Sports Health Practitioner, the Health Centre Nurses, Directors and Heads of Sport, Coaches and School Doctors todeliver the highest standard physiotherapy and rehabilitation for our students and young athletes. You will work witha wide range of age groups, U8s and U18s, so experience of working with children and young people is essential.Clifton College prides itself on its sporting provision and as such Performance Sport plays a significant part of schoollife. Excitingly you will have the opportunity to work and engage with national and international standard schoolage athletes. This will also involve liaising, working and building relationships with elite sports organisations andperformance pathways. Experience

Essential

A minimum of 2 years experience working as a physiotherapist or Sports Rehabilitator in the field of Sport. Evidence of continuous professional development within different treatment types. Excellent time management skills to be able to plan and regulate workload including the ability to prioritise demand and thrive under pressure. Full UK driving licence. Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team and foster strong working relationships. Flexible and responsive to periods of change .

Desirable

Experience of working with children and young people. Experience of working in an educational setting.

Qualifications

Essential

Chartered Clinical Physiotherapist with HCPC registration. BASRaT Accredited Sports Rehabilitator. Sports Therapy (BSc).

Desirable

Lubas Sports Trauma Management Certification. RFU pitch side qualification. Certification in Strapping & Taping for sport. Masters qualification in relevant areas - Sports Exercise & Medicine.
