Position Overview

The MSK Physiotherapy Service in Bath and North East Somerset is seeking dedicated professionals to join our team in delivering exceptional care and support to our clients. We are in search of skilled Physical Activity Facilitators on a part-time basis to assist with our Osteoarthritis Pathway and Physiotherapy Service. This role primarily focuses on supporting our Hip and Knee Osteoarthritis Pathway, which offers education, guidance, and exercise to individuals over a 12-week duration.

In addition, you will play a vital role in the rehabilitation of back pain, post-operative recovery, and other musculoskeletal issues. This may involve conducting some online or virtual sessions and consultations.

This is a part-time role with working hours spread across Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. You will be primarily based at a designated health center, with potential travel to other facilities as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Organize and lead various exercise programs in multiple settings, including virtual classes.
  • Actively participate in scheduling patient appointments for the Osteoarthritis pathway, individual sessions, and group classes.
  • Accept assigned tasks from the team leader or senior physiotherapist.
  • Manage and prioritize your own caseload independently, while receiving guidance from senior colleagues.
  • Utilize judgment and initiative to create, develop, and implement exercise programs.
  • Assess outcomes and prepare discharge reports.
  • Collaborate with external organizations as necessary.

Candidate Profile

Proficiency in IT systems, particularly Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel), is required.

Essential Qualifications

  • Registration with the Register of Exercise Professionals at Level 3, and/or a degree in Sports Science.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational abilities.
  • Proven teamwork skills.
  • Good IT literacy, including proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Experience in providing support and interactive training to groups, colleagues, and professional teams.
  • Confidence to work independently with some supervision.
  • Experience in building relationships with external agencies and organizations.
  • Understanding of relevant legislation in health and care.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Additional qualifications such as exercise referral.
  • Experience in a support practitioner role.
