What We Need from You?

Commenced the Diploma of Expert Practice in Histological Dissection Pathology, or equivalent dissection experience.

A solid histology background, embedding, microtomy, frozen sections, special staining, and quality control.

Main duties of the job

You will be part of an experienced and supportive histology team working within a state-of-the-art laboratory. We are looking for individuals who are dedicated to progressing their career in cellular pathology and looking to benefit the care and quality of patient cases processed in the department.

The post holder should have a keen interest in dissection, be timely and accurate in their work and well organised. The successful candidate must have HCPC Registration, MSc or FIBMS or equivalent, and demonstrable relevant experience post HCPC registration in cellular pathology.

As such they would be expected to, as part of a team, undertake the day to day management of the dissection area and specimen reception sections within the laboratory and develop and improve their professional expertise and specialist skills. They would liaise with consultant staff and actively participate in the training programmes required for the advanced dissection role and frozen section dissection on the spoke sites.

NWLP Induction

The NWLP induction will run on the first Monday of each month (provided it does not fall on a bank holiday) and includes laboratory training (for relevant laboratory roles). All new staff must attend the NWLP induction during their first week with NWLP.
