Job summary

The Peri-Operative Care Directorate is looking to recruit a full-time ( hours) practice educator.

The successful candidate will work within the well-established directorate education team and be responsible for the education and development needs of the staff across designated areas of the directorate whilst supporting the other members of the team.

They will be expected to assist and co-ordinate the training, education and professional development of nurses, operating department practitioners and other staff disciplines. They will be involved in practice development in the perioperative setting and will contribute and facilitate the development pathways embedded through local Universities.

The successful candidate must possess excellent organisational, problem solving and communication skills. They must be capable of working under pressure to meet deadlines and have the ability to confidently engage with colleagues at all levels of the organisation.

The post holder will be required to work autonomously to drive forward their own programme of work and will need to use innovation to overcome challenges.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be responsible for ensuring all staff members are adequately trained, educated, skilled and all professional practice is in accordance with appropriate codes of practice. To drive forward the professional standards needed to ensure a high-quality care delivery aligned to values-based appraisals and corporate, clinical board, directorate service development needs.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
