Job overview

A full-time post as Senior fellow in Structural Interventional Cardiology is available at the John Radcliffe Hospital. This post is suitable for candidates who have completed training in Interventional Cardiology and are at Consultant level. Training in all aspects of structural intervention is anticipated, including –transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI), mitral and tricuspid transcatheter edge-to-edge repair (TEER), left atrial appendage occlusion, paravalvular leak closure and closure of atrial septal defects and patent foramen ovale. This post is aimed at trainees who have completed their interventional training. Active participation in clinical research is an integral part of the post which will also involve training in interpretation of cardiac imaging (specifically echocardiography and CT). It is not an approved training post.

Main duties of the job

The Fellow may be expected to participate in teaching of the specialist registrars and occasionally other medical and non-medical personnel. 

Participation in audit is required.

There should be some opportunities for research during the appointment.
