The Focus of the Role: 


Are you celebrity and pop culture obsessed, with your finger on the pulse of the latest social trends? Are you plugged into discussions on everything from women’s issues to the royal family? Join us at Grazia, the number one destination for smart and stylish women, on a friendly, fast-paced and exciting team.


Key Responsibilities: 

Pitch daily online stories that are engaging, original and grow reach, especially via social traffic. These will often require a quick turnaround and nuanced take on a trending topic. Write stories for Apple News+ as part of our overall strategy of creating additional, exclusive content for Apple News+.  Conduct interviews for online, getting strong, news-worthy lines that start a conversation on social media.  Work on long-term digital search content and take ownership when it comes to updating existing pieces.  Use Google Trends to inform ideas and SEO best practice, to make sure stories are fully optimised. Use Google Analytics and search console to track existing stories and optimise where needed. Create, film and front social content, including green screens, around key topics. Contribute Q&As and 10 Hot Stories for print. There will also be some out of hours work when a breaking news story needs rapidly responding to. In addition, you may be required to work some evenings and weekend to cover major events in return for lieu time.

What you'll bring: 

You'll be bursting with ideas and innately understand the Grazia brand, with a strong news sense so you can recognise when a story has legs. You'll be able to speedily spot and respond to stories and breaking news. You'll be passionate about the topics Grazia covers. You'll be responsible and careful with your copy, fact-checking for accuracy and understanding when a topic has the potential to be contentious. You'll have an understanding of media law, including defamation, contempt of court and image rights. Help with forward planning, keeping abreast of launches and key dates for the editorial calendar.
