Overview:

We seek a highly capable and experienced DevOps Release Manager to join our growing team. This role focuses on infrastructure, automation, security practices, and providing tooling solutions to streamline the path-to-live for development teams. Responsibilities:

  • Release Management: Oversee the end-to-end release process for all software deployments, ensuring smooth, timely, and successful releases across various environments.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with development, QA, operations, and product management teams to coordinate and streamline release activities.
  • Scheduling and Planning: Develop and maintain a detailed release calendar, identifying key milestones and ensuring alignment with project timelines and business objectives.
  • Quality Assurance: Implement and manage release verification protocols, ensuring all releases meet the highest quality standards before deployment.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks in the release process and develop mitigation strategies to minimise impact.
  • Continuous Improvement: Analyse and refine the release management process, incorporating feedback and industry best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive release documentation, including release notes, change logs, and deployment guides.
  • Compliance: Ensure all releases comply with relevant regulatory and organisational standards, maintaining a secure and compliant release process.
  • Tooling: Manage and optimise release management tools and software, ensuring they meet the team and organisation's needs.



Experience Required:

  • Minimum 5 Years' Experience: At least five years of experience in release management, DevOps, or a related technical field.
  • Technical Background: Strong technical background with experience in software development, systems administration, or IT operations.
  • CI/CD Tools: Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, or similar.
  • Version Control Systems: Proficiency with version control systems, particularly Git.
  • Automation and Scripting: Experience with automation and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Shell scripting).
  • Project Management: Demonstrated experience in project management, with a track record of successfully managing complex release cycles.
  • Agile Methodologies: Familiarity with Agile methodologies and frameworks such as Scrum or Kanban.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Experience ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and implementing best practices for secure software delivery.
  • Industry Knowledge: Up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and advancements in DevOps and release management.
  • Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, and version control systems.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related would be ideal, but not essential for this role.
