Job summary

We are advertising a new role in the ICB as a secondment or fixed term opportunity for 6 months. We would like to have the successful candidate start in post as soon as possible.

This role will support the director of workforce change and other senior leaders in developing and co-designing the strategic vision for the system's workforce, including the operational methodology that supports this vision. It has been identified that there is a time critical requirement to apply design and systems thinking approaches to support the ICB its strategic workforce planning Immediate programmes are:

Health and care service model design - to develop a workforce design approach (that enables better population outcomes, better workforce experience and reduced costs which can be replicated across current and future clinical pathway redesign priorities).

Initiating our system-wide workforce programme group to collaboratively develop a proposed way of working and supporting principles, that ensure effectiveness for wider system partners.

Long Term Service and Workforce Strategy Development - working with the workforce programme group to design a draft service and workforce strategy that will define a set of working strategic themes and principles.

Main duties of the job

Skills requirements for 6-month secondment

The three work programmes share a common requirement for an individual with experience of applying service design, action learning and systems thinking.

The successful candidate will need to possess:

Experience of coaching and applying Executive Coaching principles to negotiate and establish relationships across ICS stakeholder groups to increase collaboration. Have experience of applying visioning and scenario planning methodologies to model and develop a ICS workforce and service strategy. Experience of translating workforce and service strategy into a system- wide delivery plan across a short-, medium- and long-term time frames. Experience of developing place-based service and workforce models. Experience of developing relationships at system-level and working collaboratively to develop research hypotheses and lines of enquiry to support service design. Understand operational workforce planning and the thematic review approaches. Have experience of facilitation with multiple stakeholder groups that support bespoke approaches to complex system workforce challenges. Experience of service design in acute and non-acute clinical settings.
