Job responsibilities
In this role the Nurse will beresponsible for the provision of safe and effective primary care appointments,with full access to patient medical records. Our team of clinicians provideweekday evening and weekend appointments to local patients referred by theirown GP surgery. The post holder will take a pro-active approach to their ownCPD, contribute to continually improving the clinical effectiveness of theclinics and work collaboratively and supportively with all colleagues.
Jobresponsibilities
Providetreatment room services and others, dependant on Tier level. To includecytology. Notlimited to but additional skills of benefit would be: wound care, swabs, familyplanning, pill checks, CDM reviews (Asthma, COPD, Diabetes), ear syringing. Undertakeopportunistic screening including BP, height, weight, BMI, urinalysis, smokingstatus and alcohol intake. Offereducation and motivation for patients to change unhealthy behaviour throughrecognising a patients readiness to change. Supervise1-2 Healthcare Assistants when on shift, with protected time at beginning andend of shift to do so. Ensurethat infection control standards are consistently met. Becompetent in anaphylaxis and resuscitation techniques. Recognisethe signs and symptoms of child abuse and be aware of local and statutory procedures. Administrationand paperwork arising directly from this caseload (record-keeping, otherwritten communications with local GP surgeries as required). Contributeto team meetings, contributing to discussion of clinical practice standards,developing protocols and providing mutual professional support for colleagues. PersonalCPD (continuing professional development), a mix of in-house events, privatestudy and external educational eventsThe above listis not exhaustive and, if appropriate, responsibilities can include specialistservices such as Spirometry, Coil and Implant fitting for an appropriatelyqualified candidate
