Are you a dedicated teacher looking for a part-time opportunity to inspire Year 4 pupils?


GSL Education are working with a local primary school in Christchurch to appoint a Part-Time Year 4 Class Teacher. This position is a fixed-term contract from January 2025 – July 2025, and would involve working alongside a job share, therefore working collaboratively is an important part of the role. You will be supported by the staff and offered additional training and input to ensure that you feel confident in the role.

The Role:

As a part-time Year 4 teacher, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Planning & Delivering Lessons: Create engaging and creative lesson plans that cater to the needs of Year 4 pupils, fostering their growth and curiosity.
  • Inclusive Classroom Environment: Build a positive, inclusive learning environment where every student feels supported and encouraged to participate.
  • Behaviour Management: Implement effective strategies to manage classroom behaviour, ensuring a focused and respectful learning space.
  • Monitoring Progress: Assess and track students' academic progress, providing valuable feedback to both students and parents.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues and parents to support the well-being and academic achievement of your pupils.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/PGCE): A valid teaching qualification is essential.
  • Experience: Previous experience working with Key Stage 2 students, particularly Year 4, is beneficial (university placements are considered).
  • Knowledge of Primary Curriculum: A solid understanding of the Key Stage 2 curriculum and teaching strategies.
  • SEN Awareness: While not essential, experience supporting pupils with SEN or SEMH needs will be an advantage.
  • Passion & Adaptability: A teacher who is passionate about working with children and can adapt to the varied learning needs of Year 4 pupils.
