Job Title: Part-Time Year 4 Teacher (Fixed-Term position)

Salary: Teacher Scale (MPS/UPS)

We are working with a local primary school to appoint a Part-Time Year 4 Class Teacher. This position is a fixed-term contract and would involve working alongside a job share. You will be supported by the staff and offered additional training and input to ensure that you feel confident in the role.

The Role:

As a part-time Year 4 teacher, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Planning & Delivering Lessons: Create engaging and creative lesson plans that cater to the needs of Year 4 pupils, fostering their growth and curiosity.
  • Inclusive Classroom Environment: Build a positive, inclusive learning environment where every student feels supported and encouraged to participate.
  • Behaviour Management: Implement effective strategies to manage classroom behaviour, ensuring a focused and respectful learning space.
  • Monitoring Progress: Assess and track students' academic progress, providing valuable feedback to both students and parents.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues and parents to support the well-being and academic achievement of your pupils.

What We're Looking For:

  • Qualified Teacher Status: A valid teaching qualification is essential.
  • Experience: Previous experience working with Key Stage 2 students, particularly Year 4, is beneficial.
  • Knowledge of Primary Curriculum: A solid understanding of the Key Stage 2 curriculum and teaching strategies.
  • SEN Awareness: While not essential, experience supporting pupils with SEN or SEMH needs will be an advantage.
  • Passion & Adaptability: A teacher who is passionate about working with children and can adapt to the varied learning needs of Year 4 pupils.
