GSL Education are seeking a dedicated Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) for a vibrant school in Southbourne to support students with diverse learning requirements.

As a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant, you will assist in managing day-to-day classroom activities, providing personalised support, and adapting materials to meet the needs of students with special educational needs.

Responsibilities of a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant:

  • Provide support to students with diverse special needs, modifying resources as required.
  • Assist in the implementation of personalised education plans.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Collaborate with staff to ensure tailored learning experiences.
  • Track and report student progress to relevant team members.

Required Qualifications for a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant:

  • Previous experience as a SEN Teaching Assistant or similar role preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach
  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection protocols
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
