JOB DESCRIPTION:
Location: Manchester City Centre
Position: Full-Time, Permanent
Hours: 40-45 hours per week, variable shifts including evenings and weekends
Salary: Competitive, reflecting your skills and experience
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Conference & Events Assistant to join us at King Street Townhouse Hotel. You will be responsible for maintaining the highest standard of professionalism in all areas of operation and carry out all duties to our world class standards.
The hotel also includes King Street Tavern (bar, restaurant and wine cellars), afternoon tea rooms, conferencing & event space, gym and treatment rooms, which are available to hotel guests. King Street Townhouse boasts some amazing features, such as its rooftop infinity spa pool, with views of the spires and clock tower of Manchester’s iconic town hall. The hotel prides itself in its reputation for special events and occasions. As such we are very popular for christenings, wedding parties, anniversaries and birthday celebrations. In addition to this we also have regular corporate banquets and events.
PRIMARY ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepare rooms for conference guests, may include but is not limited to: placement of furniture, preparation and placement of welcome package, testing AV equipment, etc.Set up rooms for large events (Weddings, Birthday parties, Corporate Events)Prepare set ups for tables and/or roomsPrepare equipment (tables, chairs etc.), cutlery, crockery and glassware for upcoming eventsKeep inventory of conference suppliesWelcome guests in a polite and friendly mannerTake and deliver customer orders, consistently demonstrating high levels of customer serviceFollow cash handling proceduresManage guest queries in a timely and efficient mannerUp-sell with latest departmental incentivesEnsure compliance of brand standardsStrive to achieve departmental targetsEnsure cleanliness of work areasComply with hotel security, fire regulations and all health and safety legislationComply with local licensing lawsAssist other departments wherever necessary and maintain good working relationshipsBENEFITS:
