Manchester, United Kingdom Big Life Group Full time
Administration Assistant

Big Life is in the business of changing lives. We fight inequality by working with people and places to create opportunities and inspire change. Whatever service we deliver to help people to change their lives, we do things .

What you’ll be doing

As a part-time Administration Assistant within the Stockport and Trafford Talking Therapies team, you will be providing personal administrative support to one of our current qualified PWPs and will be exposed to all of the clinical interventions, including assessment and treatment, that are delivered as part of the trainee/qualified PWP role. You will also work on the administrative processed and functions which are required of a trainee/qualified PWP, including the use of multiple systems and databases and the preparation of written correspondence. You will also be involved with the processes for managing risk and safeguarding concerns. You will also be required to assist with the main service administration function when not supporting our PWP.

The role is an excellent opportunity for anyone aspiring to a role that involves the delivery of one-to-one support with service-users; roles such as trainee Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (tPWP) or peer/wellbeing coach. The exposure will help you to build knowledge and gain invaluable experience of the role of PWP/coach, which will aid any future applications for permanent roles.

What we need from you
  • You will be a skilled, person-centred individual who is highly motivated.
  • You will have the ability to organise and prioritise your own workload.
  • You will have the ability to multi-task and be computer literate.
  • You will be experienced in effectively communicating with a range of people, from different sectors and communities.
  • You will have a positive and ‘can do’ attitude.
  • You will have personal resilience and a flexible attitude in the face of difficulties.
What we will offer you in return
  • An annual salary of £24,702 pro-rata (NJC point 8)
  • A 1 year, part-time, 18.75 hours per week, fixed-term contract (with possibility of extension)
  • 25 days holiday, and 30 once you’ve been here five years
  • A relaxed culture where you are expected to plan your own day, take breaks when you need them and enjoy your work
  • Ongoing personal and professional development through regular supervision
  • A supportive, flexible approach to managing staff health and wellbeing, including a wide range of perks, schemes, and support.
What next?

The Big Life Group can provide excellent opportunities for ongoing personal and professional development through regular supervision and training opportunities. We welcome applications from both internal and external candidates, and those with personal experience of mental health problems.

The closing date for applications is Friday 13 September 2024. But we may close the vacancy sooner if a high volume of applications are received. Interviews will take place Tuesday 24 September 2024 afternoon via Teams.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and will be subject to enhanced DBS checks.

Big Life strives to be diverse and inclusive - a place where we can all be ourselves. We strongly encourage applicants from all parts of society. You can read on our careers site about the actions we are taking ourselves to fight inequality and inspire change.

We actively value the lived experiences and expertise of our staff, volunteers and the people who use our service and see the extra value that they bring to our organisation.
