Long- Term teachers are working with a fantastic multi academy trust based in Salisbury, who are seeking an passionate, confident teaching assistant to join them in their resource base. The school is a mainstream environment, however they have opened up a resource base, to support a small number of students with SEN.

About the role:

 

There are up to 10 students placed in the resource base, which will allow you to develop a rapport with each student, becoming a positive role model and mentor. There will be a class teacher planning, delivering and marking lessons, however you will offer support with activity prep, you will have the opportunity to implement your creative side when devising activities. You will also be responsible for leading small group interventions and 1:1, which means it is paramount you are confident and assertive as well as being patient to manage the environment. 


 

The key needs of the students include learning, social, emotional and mental health needs, in addition to challenging behaviour. It is essential you have previously supported these needs, to ensure you can assess how to support them. 



 

This is a full time position, working Monday to Friday term time only, between the hours of 8:30am - 3:30pm. Commencing as soon as possible, you will be employed by the school, where you are contracted to work 38 weeks per year.
