Job summary
This is a 12-month fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave at Pinhoe View, a new purpose-built facility in Exeter where a range of mental health services are provided for adults with acute mental health conditions. As a Practice Nurse, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team supporting and encouraging service users to improve their physical health, while also contributing to risk assessments, liaising with the GP service, supervising junior staff, and implementing screening processes.
Main duties of the job
The Practice Nurse role at Pinhoe View involves supporting the Mental Health service to help service users build a brighter future. You will work alongside the multidisciplinary team to improve the physical health of service users, conduct risk assessments, liaise with the GP service, supervise junior staff, and implement screening processes. No two days are the same, providing variety and opportunities for growth and development.

What you will be doing
As a Practice Nurse, you will support the Mental Health service for people to build a brighter future, while also supporting your colleagues and promoting good teamwork.
Working alongside the multidisciplinary team, you will support and encourage service users to improve their physical health and will be responsible for risk assessments, liaising with our GP service, supervising junior staff and implementing screening processes.
No two days are the same, with plenty to keep you engaged and motivated, but also a good amount of routine.

To be successful as Practice Nurse, you’ll need

Pinhoe View is a new purpose-built facility where a range of mental health services are provided for adults with acute mental health conditions across two wards and eight individual flats. The 24-hour acute inpatient service is supported by a full multidisciplinary team, which specialises in the assessment, treatment and stabilisation of people suffering from a significant mental health episode and in crisis
