We are looking for aBand 6 specialised MSK physiotherapist to join The Sunderland IntegratedMusculoskeletal Team (SIMS) as a Physiotherapist specializing in the deliveryof care to patients with MSK conditions. The Service offerspatients a fast track route to full specialist assessments, necessarydiagnostic tests, and treatment as an alternative pathway to Hospital referral.Staff should be able to demonstrate excellent skills and knowledge, leadership,motivation and organization to become part of our enthusiastic team who willsupport you in developing and advancing your musculoskeletal and managementskills. You must have excellent communication skills with experience of sharingspecialized information and ideas across multiple disciplines.

Main duties of the job

The SIMS team is part on the communitydivision within South Tyneside and Sunderland Foundation Trust. The team isbased in Community health centres across Sunderland.

You would be working alongside a team ofGPWSI, ESP and Physiotherapists, but also developing close workingrelationships with secondary care consultants. The candidate should have gainedexperience across a number of specialities and should have musculoskeletalexperience or looking to develop this. They should also have a good groundingin the NHS.

They should be looking to work as anautonomous practitioner within a specialist team using specialist clinicalreasoning skills to provide specialist physiotherapy assessment, diagnosis,treatment and advice to an independently managed caseload which willincorporate routine and complex presentation of conditions. To begin to develop specialist skills to takea lead role in clinical practice issues, raising the profile of the service andoffering specialist advice to planning and service development teams in orderto assist in the implementation of service.

The service operates working one latenight and alternative Saturday mornings.

To work as an autonomous practitioner within a specialist team using specialist clinical reasoning skills to provide specialist physiotherapy assessment, diagnosis, treatment and advice to an independently managed caseload which will incorporate routine and complex presentation of conditions. To begin to develop specialist skills to take a lead role in clinical practice issues, raising the profile of the service and offering specialist advice to planning and service development teams in order to assist in the implementation of service improvements. To consolidate post-graduate skills and continue professional development, including participation in physiotherapy in-service training programmes and external postgraduate training. To develop the clinical education of staff within the specialism and be responsible for the supervision of unqualified and newly qualified Physiotherapists who work under your direct supervision.
