Nursing Information Officer

We are recruiting for three Nursing Information Officers who share our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.
The Nursing Information Officer (NIO) will lead and support workstreams as part of the Trust's EPR implementation project. A special interest and demonstrable experience from a nursing leader in one of the areas below is desirable:
• Emergency Department
• In-patient
• Intensive Care Unit and Theatres
The NIO will be supporting the Chief Nursing Information Officer (CNIO) in leading the development and implementation of Digital to support nursing midwifery and Allied Health Professional (AHP) practice, collaborating with the Chief Clinical Information Officer (CCIO) on the clinical and administrative decision-making process.
The NIO will take particular responsibility for ensuring nursing adoption and engagement in the use of technology:
• Driving continuous clinical process improvement in the Nursing and Midwifery divisions focused on patient outcomes and efficiency.
• Developing clinical Information that supports and enhances nursing practice and organisational efficiency.

Main duties of the jobThe Nursing Information Officer (NIO) is a key leadership role central to the success of the Trust’s Digital and Nursing Strategies. The NIO will be involved across the Trust supporting the CNIO and CCIO across all specialties and will be a key member of the EPR Project implementation team.
The NIO is expected to lead and support workstream/s as part of EPR project implementation. They will be responsible for the clinical safety of systems and processes in the design, implementation, and use of technology solutions. They will hold a recognised CSO qualification or be willing to undertake.
You will be the Lead Nurse for digital with ownership and responsibility for the co-ordination and collation of data with colleagues in the nursing, digital department and external agencies where required.

Person specificationQualifications/TrainingEssential criteria- Relevant professional/clinical qualification (RN)
- First level degree in related healthcare discipline
- Evidence of a Master’s degree relevant to role or equivalent experience
- Teaching/Mentorship qualification
- Clinical Safety Officer Practitioner or willingness to undertake
- Digital Health Leadership course or working towards
- Post-graduate management qualification / experience
- Project management qualification / experience
- In-depth understanding of the national digital agenda and Guidance for Nursing on What Good Looks Like (WGLL) Framework
- In-depth understanding of the relevance of high-quality data
- Up to date and evidence-based knowledge of current clinical and professional issues
- In-depth understanding of the unified vision of nursing and midwifery documentation and ability to apply the findings to improve patient care
- Strong analytical, technical knowledge and problem-solving skills relating to IT systems
- Experience in MDT working and experience at 8a Level
- Knowledge of clinical systems (CMIS, Lorenzo, Nervecentre, etc)
- Experience in change management, service development
- Advanced level skills in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Experience in teaching and assessing in all clinical areas
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Project management and change management experience
- Must be able to demonstrate behaviours consistent with the Trust’s values
- Ability to work across a large range specialties
- Demonstrable ability to work professionally under pressure and work deadlines
- Demonstrable ability to concentrate and maintain high degree of accuracy
- Proven ability to emotionally support other staff and self-reflect on interpersonal style.
