This is anexciting new opportunity for a full time band 3 support worker to join an expandingteam working within CAMHS Early Help Pathway working with Children, Youngpeople and families. This role will be joining an already established teamwithin CAMHS service supporting provision of early intervention services.

You wouldbe part of a team that is delivering earlyintervention services to Children and Young People (CYP) in their community andschools. The core function of the early help team is to work with CYP to buildresilience, undertake prevention work, targeted intervention work andsupporting the community network when CYP do have mental health issues. Therewill opportunity to deliver training alongside other colleagues.

This is arole that is designed to support the service with the current provision withinCAMHS early help to offer working with Families and young people providing targeted,short term interventions (group & individual) up to 6-8 sessions within theI-THRIVE model and guided self-help with the focus will be on early post holder will work as part of the CAMHS EarlyHelp Pathway providing guided self-help to children and young people who havecompleted their assessment but are awaiting their primary intervention, thepost holder will be supported by a registered member of staff. This rolewill be varied.

This role may not be eligible for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker route.

Main duties of the job

The postholder will be responsible for supporting theemotional, psychological and social wellbeing of children and young people witha drive for early intervention, enabling cultural change in the way firstcontact services can support children and young people with mental health issues.

The post holder will work as part of the CAMHS Early Help Pathway to support the delivery of targetedinterventions, groups, guided self-help and possible parent interventions implemented effectively and evaluated using routine outcome measures (ROM's).

This role will be providing targeted interventions up to 8 sessions within the I-THRIVE model.

To support CYP to access an online, targeted intervention and to facilitate the intervention online for the CYP to access CBT.

To plan & deliver various groups on a rolling programme.

The post holder will co-facilitate training to schoolsin collaboration with team members, work in schools with groups of young peoplepromoting resilience and wellbeing to prevent mental health issues arising.

To liaise effectively with the otherCAMHS pathways across the city.

To maintain confidentiality in respectof the young people at all times.

Communicate clearly with children and youngpeople, their families and all other health professional groups.

Promote person centred approach

To achieve 15 clinical contacts a week

Job responsibilities

To work aspart of the CAMHS Early Help Pathway to work with children and young peoplewho may present with emerging mental health difficulties.

To support the delivery of evidencebased targeted interventions in a timely manner.

To support with the delivery of providing guided self-help to children & young people who have completed their assessment and are awaiting their primary intervention and will be supported by a registered member of the team.

To contribute to the gathering ofrelevant and appropriate information prior to community assessment clinics toensure that the assessing clinician has the information to support theassessment process.

Co-delivery of group based, needs letgroups within the school and community setting. To support drop-in sessions,deliver assemblies and small group sessions to promote well-being and increaseresilience.

To support the delivery of evidencebased parenting programmes for children and young people with mental health issues.

Where appropriate represent CAMHS in multi-agencymeetings such as CAF, SEND meetings or child protection meetings to share andgather relevant information

To function as a member of the localityfacing CAMHS Early Help Pathway taking appropriate responsibility for theimplementation of decisions made by the team.

Ensure planned interventions areimplemented effectively and evaluated using Routine Outcome Monitoring (ROMS)

Participate in the delivery of trainingprogrammes for schools and community services from a portfolio of availableCAMHS training

Maintain standards of care to highestlevel within available resources.

To liaise effectively with the otherCAMHS pathways across the city.

To develop and maintain relationshipswith providers statutory and non-statutory.

Qualifications

Essential

NVQ level 3 or equivalent level of relevant study. Ability to communicate effectively with young people and their families/carers, who are experiencing mental health problems in the community setting. Some experience/ability in communicating with other professionals from the multidisciplinary team and professionals from other health settings and agencies. Team player. Experience of working with children & young people Caring and supportive attitude, but with the ability to be firm. Good communication skills. Clear accurate record keeping. Computer literate.
