Play and Leisure Co-ordinator

Are you looking for a new challenge? 

Would you like to join our team as the Play and Leisure coordinator with our Cyfle 'Out and About' Service? This exciting opportunity has arisen for the role to assist the Manager to further develop provision within a well-established and reputable play and leisure provision for children and Young People with Significant Additional Needs. The role will require working in partnership with the Children's Service Manager and Team in Cyfle to ensure a high-quality standard of care for our children in line with Care Inspectorate Wales requirements and best practice.

Who are the Cyfle ‘Out and About' Service?

The Cyfle ‘Out and About' Service gives play and leisure opportunities to children and Young People with significant additional needs within Denbighshire local authority area during school holidays. However, continuous planning is needed throughout the year to ensure that we provide a service that meets Care Inspectorate Wales registration criteria as well as meeting best practice in recruitment, training and planning. 

What does the Role involve?

You will be working alongside the Childrens Service Manager to ensure that the registered provision continues to succeed by:

Being part of the team that provides high quality services to our Children and Young People during school holidays. Providing stringent assessments and plans for children, Young People and information for Parent/Carers. Communicating effectively with children and young people with additional needs. Effective recording and report writing. Ensuring positive partner relationships. Supporting the recruitment of staff. Ensuring that we work within the guidance of Care Inspectorate Wales for our registered provision.

What are we looking for?

You will have:

Diploma in Health and Social Care (Children and Young People) Wales and Northern Ireland or equivalent. Experience of working with Children and Young People with Additional needs. Ability to communicate effectively with children and young people with additional needs. Safeguarding knowledge. Commitment to equality and the inclusion of disabled children and young people in all aspects of the service. Work in partnership with agencies and our main stakeholders children and families.

Although this contract has a permanent status, please be aware that this post is subject to funding currently to 31/04/2025 and therefore should this funding not be extended further, you may be subject to a redundancy consultation or a TUPE arrangement.

This contract is until April 2025 and is renewed annually by commissioners.
