About the role and school

Teaching Personnel is currently seeking for a Teaching Assistant to assist the teacher in the classroom, provide 1:1 support to struggling students and also those with Special Educational Needs (SEN). The ideal candidate should be passionate about making a positive difference in a school environment and want to make an impact on students lives by providing extra support in a mainstream Secondary environment. The school is located in Liverpool and is recognised as a good school by Ofsted, children behave well and have great relationships with teachers.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 support to pupils in the classroom.
  • Work alongside the teacher with the general overseeing of a classroom.
  • Supporting pupils from aged 11-16 with individual and SEN needs in different subjects within the curriculum.
  • Monitor and report student progress back to the teaching team.

Requirements

  • Enhanced DBS cleared & uploaded to the update service (or willingness to apply)
  • Full right to work within the UK.
  • Experience working with children with special educational needs.
  • Relevant experience as a Teaching Assistant is desirable.
  • Patience, empathy and a proactive approach to supporting those with SEN.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
