The post holder will ideallyhave previous NHS experience and be happy working as part of a team deliveringOccupational Therapy within mental health services. They must be able todemonstrate initiative and prioritise a complex workload whilst working both asan autonomous practitioner and as part of a team.
Highlevels of both written and oral communication are essential to this post withthe ability to deliver or discuss difficult diagnosis and prognosis with tact,empathy, managing distressed or aggressive patients or carers/relatives. Thepost holder must be able to communicate accurate and sensitive information topatients, carers, and relatives as well as within their own team &colleagues.
Main duties of the job

To contribute to the delivery of services to meetthe trust objectives
This role is working on the female PICU unit withoccasional cover on the male admission unit.
Deliverrelevant evidence-based care cluster pathway interventions
Eitherin service users homes or in the crisis beds at Salford Listening Lounge
Engagewith carers and significant others in response to identified needs
To contribute to monitoring the quality of work inown service, through active involvement in clinical supervision and reportingany performance/quality issues and related risks.
To be responsible for equipment used in carryingout duties, adhering to departmental policy and ensuring the safe use ofequipment by others through teaching, training and supervision of practice
To be responsible for maintaining own competencyand self-development
To contribute to monitoring the quality of work inown service area, through active involvement in clinical supervision andreporting any performance/quality issues and related risks

The Successful Candidate Will
Hold a Degree in Occupational Therapy or equivalent
Be HCPC registered
Have previous NHS experience within a Mental HealthService
Hold a full, current driving licence and haveaccess to their own vehicle for work purposes
Practicein accordance with the professional, ethical, and legal codes of the Health& Care Professions Council (HCPC), and Trust and NHS protocols andguidelines
