Job overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic practitioner psychologist to join the General Paediatric Psychology Service (GPPS) in Swansea Bay. This is a great opportunity to join an established and friendly team of psychologists, working closely with colleagues in General Paediatrics to support children and young people (and their families) who have psychological needs relating to on-going medical conditions.

This would be a great opportunity for a psychologist wanting to extend their experience in a child and/or physical health setting. Applications would be welcomed from psychology trainees approaching qualification who might wish to be considered for a Band 7/ 8a development post.

Please note that this is a part-time (22.5 hours) post, but there may be scope to offer some additional hours.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will offer direct therapeutic work to individual children and their families as well as playing a pivotal role in the development and facilitation of group-based interventions, alongside other team members, such as assistant psychologists. The post holder will work closely with MDT colleagues to ensure that care offered to children and young people is psychologically informed. The post holder will contribute to the development of team processes including clinical pathways, outcome measurement and training.
